Our NVQ Courses in Plastering

The way in which we gather evidence to meet the criteria include witness statements, videos, photographs, professional discussions, direct observations and can include previous units/qualifications gained from recent qualifications/courses taken that we can use as recognized prior learning.

Course Content:
NVQ L2 Plastering Solid qualification units to be undertaken.

Mandatory units

  • Applying finishing plaster to prepared surfaces in the workplace
  • Applying solid render to background surfaces and producing finishes in the workplace
  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace
  • Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
  • Producing internal solid plastering finishes in the workplace

Optional Units (1 unit required)

  • Applying projection plaster and render, and maintaining equipment in the workplace
  • Installing direct bond dry lining systems in the workplace
  • Installing mechanically fixed plasterboard in the workplace
  • Laying sand and cement screeds in the workplace

Who Is It For:

This assessment process is for Plasterers who have experience in working as a Plasterer and need the qualification to obtain a CSCS card. This could be 2 years of experience or 50 years’ experience. The Level of qualification will depend on experience you have, this will be identified with an IAG (Information and Guidance) meeting over the phone.
The Level 2 NVQ in Tiling gives you access to the blue skilled workers card, this is accepted on construction sites across the whole of the UK.

What Is The Cost For The Course:

The NVQ L2 is £800.00 inc VAT.

Course Content:
NVQ L3 Plastering qualification units to be undertaken

Mandatory Units

  • Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace
  • Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace
  • Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Conserving, Restoring or Repairing Solid Plaster or Render Surfaces in the Workplace
  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
  • Preparing and Mixing Lime Mortars in the Workplace
  • Producing Plaster and Render Finishes on Conservation or Restoration Projects or Earthen Structures in the Workplace
  • Working on Conservation and Restoration Projects in the Workplace

Assessment Procedure:

Conducted through a combination of on-site assessments and remote evaluations, ensuring flexibility and convenience for participants. This will be decided upon first contact with the IAG (Information and Guidance) meeting/phone call to what is required.
